Ah, I finally got around to reading the little story about the Vallens and their history. I've got to say that they're a very charming race indeed. Such a pity, though, that mankind grew jealous of them and cast them away. Leave it to we humans, huh?

Merokaneil here is a pretty character. It's hard to see his nose shape because of the dark coat, but I doodled out his "deer-like nose" in a sketch, and found that he really doesn't look much like a wolf after all. Oh my! Perhaps in the reference you could add a little sketch of his nose, to give us a better idea of what it looks like. Hehe. He's nonetheless got a very interesting design; I think that you did a fine job on him. Nice colors, an interesting backstory, and a nice shapeshifting ability to boot. Fantastic!

I've got a tiny question for ya here, and I'm sorry if I misread something in your write-up about the Vallens. When it mentioned that Vallens could shapeshift to look more like Earth animals, does this mean that they can change into any animal at will? Or does each Vallen have a single designated animal? c:

Vallens can change into any animal, but most of them prefer to use just one form because that's all they can do with their energy capacity. Merokaneil can turn into all of them, as he has much energy from a very long storyline of dewm that would take way too long to explain, but he's usually found in wolf form. xD Make any more sense?

Thanks for answering my question, too. I definately get it now. So basically many of them have a preference or skill level...like some might want to be a porcupine, while another might prefer being an elephant? Stuff like that? Interesting! :U
